Paul Blart: Mall Cop is an American Family-action comedy directed by Steve Carr and starring Kevin James, as Paul Blart. The movie was released on January 16, 2009.[1] The film was loathed by critics; receiving a rating of 33% on Rotten Tomatoes[2] and a score of 5.2 on IMDB[3], but has gained a substantial ironic fanbase, similar to Johnny Test and Cory In The House. A sequel, Paul Blart:Mall Cop 2 was released on April 17, 2015, this time directed by Andy Fickman[6]. The sequel is more of a critical failure than the original movie, being given a 3.9/10 on IMDB[4] and a metascore of 14/100 by the users of Metacritic.[5] An official website for the sequel exists.[7]
